Swedish runner who set two world records and won a bronze medal (5,000m) at the 1936 Berlin Olympics; broke 2000m record in 1937 and the 3000m record in 1940; banned from competition in 1946 for violating his amateur status by accepting payments; originally Henry Jonsson, he changed his name in 1940. The cause of his death was not given. Died: Stockholm, Sweden, March 17
